These terms cover your use of Event Hub, a service by MyPeople. By creating an event or replying to an invitation, you agree to them.
Who can use it
You need a working mobile number to sign in as a host. If you're creating events on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you're allowed to do so. Guests don't need an account at all.
Your event, your responsibility
As a host you're responsible for the accuracy of what you publish, for the guest list you build, and for how you use the details your guests give you. Only invite people who would expect to hear from you about the event, and use their information for that event alone. Guests are responsible for the accuracy of what they submit.
What you may not do
Don't use Event Hub to send unsolicited bulk messages, to collect data under false pretences, to impersonate someone else, or for anything unlawful. Don't attempt to access events or guest lists that aren't yours, or to disrupt the service for others. We may suspend or remove an account or event that does.
Payments between guests and hosts
Where an event collects money, all of it changes hands directly between guest and host over UPI. We are not a party to that payment: we don't process it, hold it, or guarantee it, and we charge no commission on it. Event Hub only records payment status and amounts as reported by the host or the guest. Refunds, disputes and cancellations are strictly between you and your host.
Entry passes
Guest passes — including passcodes issued by a connected society app such as MyGate — exist for the host's own check-in at their event. They carry no value outside it, and admission is always at the discretion of the host and the venue. Where a society app issues the pass, that app's own terms apply to it as well.
Availability
We work to keep Event Hub running, but we don't promise uninterrupted service. Features may change, and we may need to take the service down for maintenance. Keep your own record of anything you can't afford to lose.
Liability
Event Hub is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for anything arising from how a host or guest uses the service — including a mis-stated headcount, a missed invitation, or a payment between a guest and a host.
Ending your use
You can delete an event, and everything in it, at any time from its Settings. You can stop using Event Hub whenever you like. We may end access where these terms are broken.
